WHERE WE STARTED. WHERE WE'VE BEEN. WHERE WE ARE.

Responding to the evolving needs of our clients and the impact of COVID-19, we consolidated operations and established our headquarters in San Diego, California. This strategic move strengthened our presence in Southern California's legal community and enhanced our ability to support law firms throughout San Diego County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County.

Recognizing the growing demand in California, we expanded our operations into the Golden State. This move allowed us to serve California's thriving legal community with the same reliability and professionalism we'd built over 15 years in Nevada.

We opened our Reno, Nevada, office under the business name Friendly Persuasion, extending our capabilities throughout Northern Nevada and establishing ourselves as a trusted provider in the region.

On February 20, 2002—the 52nd birthday of our company's first Vice President, Gail Norris—we opened our first office in Fallon, Nevada. From day one, our mission was clear: provide law firms and attorneys with reliable, professional service they could count on. That commitment remains unchanged more than two decades later.

Before entering the legal industry, we operated Ranworks Online as a Bulletin Board System (BBS)—essentially the internet before the internet existed. This platform provided forums for discussions on legal matters, politics, and community topics, while maintaining extensive databases of downloadable resources. This early experience with technology and information sharing laid the foundation for our later commitment to GPS-tracked, technology-enhanced operations.

OUR COMMITMENT TO THE LEGAL COMMUNITY

At Ranworks, we understand that legal professionals need more than just someone to serve papers; they need a reliable partner who understands court deadlines, legal requirements, and getting service done right.

That’s why we’ve built our business on:

What Legal
Professionals Says

Trusted by Attorneys Throughout California

Ryan at Ranworks is an outstanding process server. He is fast, reliable, and professional. As an attorney, I rely on him to handle sensitive and time-critical services with precision. He communicates clearly, provides detailed documentation, and always follows through. Ryan is a valuable part of our legal support team, and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a skilled and dependable process server.

-Seth Barron

Ryan is very professional and informative. He provided a swift service (pun) and proved to have deep insight and knowledge about the legal process. It shows that he definitely has the experience. Ryan went above and beyond. I will definitely use him again and refer everyone who may need a similar service.

-Kyle Pendell

Ryan and his team have been the best. Very accommodating, turnaround time as promised, and offers reasonable prices for servicing. After 4 years of searching, using numerous other process servers, his efforts helped me to find a defendant for a custody case within 2 weeks after receiving my court documents for service. And that is with me getting the court documents to him late. I will be forever grateful to Ryan and his team for helping me move this case along. Thank you!

-Anita

"As a veteran-owned law firm, we appreciate working with another veteran-owned business that understands service and duty. Ranworks doesn't cut corners; they do the job right."

FAQ's

Can you serve someone at their workplace? +
Yes. California law permits workplace service in most cases. Our licensed process servers use discretion to minimize disruption while ensuring proper service of process. Workplace service is often successful when residential attempts fail. Some restrictions apply to certain document types, like restraining orders. We assess each situation to determine the most effective service strategy.
What if someone refuses to accept the documents? +
Under California law, physical acceptance isn't required for valid service. If our process server identifies the correct person and attempts delivery, service is complete even if they refuse. We legally place documents near the person and document everything with GPS tracking. California courts accept this as proper service of process.
How do I submit documents for service? +
Submit documents three ways: email to documents@ranworks.com, use our online submission form, or call 888-636-0293. Provide the documents, the recipient's name and address, any known descriptions, and your contact information. We confirm receipt, provide a case number, and begin service coordination. Our system accepts submissions 24/7 for your convenience.
Can I track the status of my service attempt? +
Yes. We provide real-time status updates throughout the service process. You'll be notified when attempts are made, when service is completed, and if challenges arise. Our GPS-tracked system documents every attempt with coordinates and timestamps. You can also call or email anytime for immediate status updates on your case.
Do you integrate with legal practice management software? +
Yes. Ranworks integrates seamlessly with Clio, Time Matters, and other popular legal software platforms via InfoTrack ServeIT. Submit service requests directly from your case management system, receive automatic status updates, and eliminate duplicate data entry. This integration saves time and streamlines your legal document service workflow for maximum efficiency. Contact us at 888-636-0293 for integration details.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, checks (business and personal), ACH transfers, and wire transfers for large orders. Established law firm accounts may qualify for Net 30 billing terms. Payment is due upon service completion. We provide detailed invoices for all process serving and legal support services rendered.
Can you serve documents to businesses and corporations? +
Yes. We serve legal documents to businesses, corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and registered agents throughout California and nationwide. Our process servers understand proper service requirements for business entities, including service to agents for service of process, corporate officers, and authorized representatives. We handle commercial litigation, breach of contract, and all business-related legal document services
